Meeting transcript: Molly Jensen, Q3 portfolio review
Simulation only. Kellerman & Castle is a fictional firm built for this workshop, operating in no real regulatory regime; nothing here is calibrated to one. Molly Jensen, Johnny Castle, Baby Houseman, Ethan, and every date and figure below are invented for this workshop. Nothing in this document describes a real client, a real account, or real financial, legal, or accounting guidance.
This is a workshop exercise fixture, written against fictional data for this exercise only. Reusing this transcript, or the recap and Page prompts built around it, against a real client’s real meeting is your own regulated activity, not something this workshop can vouch for.
Meeting: Molly Jensen, Q3 portfolio review Date: Tuesday, September 8, 2026, 2:00-2:30 PM Location: Microsoft Teams call Attendees: Johnny Castle (senior financial advisor), Molly Jensen (client), Baby Houseman (shadowing this call as part of her first month at the firm)
A note on how you’re seeing this. You weren’t on this call. This transcript is what you’d get handed afterward - the same shape of output a meeting’s own recording and transcript would leave behind for someone catching up later. Read the whole thing once, start to finish, before you write anything. Everything you need to build an accurate recap is in here somewhere, but it isn’t labeled, and not everything said out loud turns into something anyone actually has to do.
[2:00 PM] Johnny Castle: Molly, hi, thanks for making time this week. Before we get going, I want to introduce Baby Houseman - she just joined the team last month and she’s sitting in on a few client calls to get a feel for how these reviews usually go. That okay with you?
[2:00 PM] Molly Jensen: Of course, hi Baby. Welcome. I remember what that first month feels like, don’t worry, it gets easier.
[2:01 PM] Baby Houseman: Thank you, I appreciate that. I’ll mostly just be listening and taking notes today.
[2:01 PM] Johnny Castle: How’s the move going, by the way? Last time we talked you still had about a third of the house in boxes.
[2:01 PM] Molly Jensen: Better than a third now, but there are still boxes I haven’t touched. The kitchen’s done, the office is done, everything else is a work in progress. I keep telling myself I’ll get to the guest room eventually.
[2:02 PM] Johnny Castle: No rush. Oh - speaking of the move, did you ever get your mailing address updated with us? I think that came up last quarter too.
[2:02 PM] Molly Jensen: I really should do that. It’s been on my list for weeks now, honestly. I keep meaning to sit down and fill out whatever form you need.
[2:03 PM] Johnny Castle: No worries, we’ll circle back to that in a minute - I don’t want it to get lost again. Let’s start with the statement itself so Baby can see how we usually walk through one of these.
[2:03 PM] Johnny Castle: So this is your Q2 statement - Q3 doesn’t close out for a few more weeks yet, but it’s the most recent one we can actually walk through today. Nothing dramatic in Q2 - it was a fairly typical quarter. A little bumpy in May across the board, and things settled back out by quarter close. Nothing in the account itself changed hands; this call is a check-in, not a transaction.
[2:04 PM] Molly Jensen: That matches what I remember seeing when I glanced at it. The municipal bond sleeve looked about the same as always.
[2:04 PM] Johnny Castle: Right, the Northbridge Municipal Income sleeve barely moved, same as it’s looked the last few quarters running. The broad-market equity sleeve is where most of the quarter’s bumpiness showed up, and the Averton Harbor REIT sleeve and the cash reserve both stayed roughly flat.
[2:05 PM] Baby Houseman: Can I ask a basic question? What’s actually the difference between the REIT sleeve and the equity sleeve, structurally? I want to make sure I’m explaining that right if a client ever asks me directly.
[2:05 PM] Johnny Castle: Good question. The equity sleeve is index-tracking - it holds a broad basket of ordinary company shares. The REIT sleeve specifically holds real-estate investment trusts, which are companies that own or finance income-producing property. Different sleeve, different kind of underlying asset, even though both are technically equities in a broad sense.
[2:06 PM] Molly Jensen: That’s a clearer explanation than the one I got when I first opened the account, for what it’s worth.
[2:06 PM] Johnny Castle: I’ll take that as a compliment. Anything on the statement itself you want to walk through line by line, or does the summary cover it?
[2:07 PM] Molly Jensen: The summary’s fine. Actually, could you get me a paper copy of the Q2 statement? I like having something physical in my file at home, and last quarter I had to ask twice before it showed up.
[2:07 PM] Johnny Castle: That’s easy - I’ll get Molly a paper copy of the Q2 account statement by Friday, September 11th. I’ll have operations print and mail it the same way as last quarter’s.
[2:08 PM] Molly Jensen: Perfect, thank you.
[2:08 PM] Johnny Castle: Now, back to the address. What actually needs to happen is a signed change-of-address form - I can’t update it on your say-so over a call, it has to be in writing for the file.
[2:09 PM] Molly Jensen: Right, that’s probably why it’s been sitting undone for a month. Okay, let me actually take care of that properly this time instead of just meaning to. I’ll send the signed change-of-address form to Johnny by Friday, September 18th, once I dig it out of a moving box - I think I know which one it’s in.
[2:09 PM] Johnny Castle: That works. Baby, once that comes in, can you take this one? Confirm with operations that the address change has actually gone through, not just that the form was received.
[2:10 PM] Baby Houseman: Sure. Got it - I’ll confirm with operations that the address change has been processed by Monday, September 21st, and flag it to you if there’s any holdup on their end.
[2:10 PM] Johnny Castle: Perfect, that’s a good one to get comfortable with early - it comes up more than people expect.
[2:11 PM] Molly Jensen: While we’re on paperwork, I’ve also been meaning to switch from paper statements to the online portal entirely. I really should just do that at some point instead of letting mail pile up.
[2:11 PM] Johnny Castle: Whenever you’re ready, that’s a quick change on your end through the portal settings - no form needed for that one, so it’s really just whenever it’s convenient for you.
[2:12 PM] Molly Jensen: Noted. No promises on when, but noted.
[2:12 PM] Baby Houseman: Can I ask about the May dip you mentioned earlier? Was that specific to this account, or was it broader than that?
[2:13 PM] Johnny Castle: Broader - it showed up across most diversified accounts we manage that quarter, not something specific to Molly’s mix. It’s the kind of thing that shows up in a quarter here and there and isn’t unusual on its own. Nothing about it changes anything on this call.
[2:13 PM] Molly Jensen: That’s good to know, I wasn’t worried about it, just curious.
[2:14 PM] Molly Jensen: Oh, one more thing before I forget - my son Ethan asked about getting read-only access to the account portal. Just so he can check statements if anything ever happens to me, nothing more than that. He’s not asking to be added to anything, just to be able to look.
[2:14 PM] Johnny Castle: That’s a simple one to set up - view-only portal access, no transaction rights. We’ll need his contact information on file first.
[2:15 PM] Molly Jensen: Makes sense. I’ll get Ethan’s email address to Baby by Wednesday, September 16th, so that can get set up on your end.
[2:15 PM] Baby Houseman: Sounds good, I’ll keep an eye out for that.
[2:16 PM] Johnny Castle: Great. Anything else on your end before we look at scheduling the next one?
[2:16 PM] Molly Jensen: I don’t think so. It’s been a quiet quarter, which I’m not complaining about.
[2:17 PM] Johnny Castle: Quiet is usually good news in this business. Let’s pencil in the next review for the week of December 7th, so we’re not doing it too close to year-end paperwork season. I’ll send Molly a calendar invite for the week of December 7th by Thursday, September 17th, once my own schedule’s finalized.
[2:17 PM] Molly Jensen: That works for me. I’ll keep an eye out for it.
[2:18 PM] Johnny Castle: Great. And just to be clear for the file - nothing about the account itself needs to change coming out of this call. This was a check-in and some paperwork housekeeping, nothing more.
[2:18 PM] Molly Jensen: Understood. Thanks, both of you - and welcome again, Baby.
[2:19 PM] Baby Houseman: Thank you, this was really helpful to sit in on.
[2:19 PM] Johnny Castle: Take care, Molly. Talk soon.
